About
The Vault blossomed to life in Halifax a quarter century ago, at a time when the concept of niche marketing was just a burgeoning idea. And 25 years later, The Vault has established itself as more than an upscale jewelry store, specializing in unique designer handcrafted jewelry, but as a signature of style.
The concept was to create a store for women by women, where the guilty pleasures of shopping for oneself fade away. This is a place where women can treat themselves and feel good about it.
Located originally on Spring Garden Road in the city’s fashion shopping district and now also in Halifax Shopping Centre, The Vault showcases designer collections from all corners of the world. Initially specializing in sterling silver and semi-precious stones, the shop’s repertoire has grown to represent unique lines that use materials such as niobium, brass, copper, glass, pearls and an eclectic array of beads, all ranging in price from $50 to $500.
Recognized for unique style and attention to detail, The Vault has received an ARIDO (Association of Registered Interior Designers of Ontario) Award and has been featured in international retail magazines alongside stores such as Louis Vuitton. The classic storefront is an oasis of purple, mirror, chrome and unique graphic panels that wrap the walls and ceiling. The quartz floor has pieces of glass and mother of pearl embedded in the tiles, reflecting a light purple iridescent quality. The atmosphere is vibrant and energetic transcending the normal jewelry shopping experience.
With room for more than just fabulous jewelry in its heart, The Vault is also deeply involved with local charitable causes. In addition to regular monthly donations for community-related charitable auctions, The Vault is a proud supporter of the Laing House Masquerade Ball, the Progress Club Girls Night Out, and the Progress Club of Halifax Big Spring Auction.
While the store has matured to support the sophisticated tastes of Haligonians, it strives to maintain the small home-town feeling and high levels of personalized service of when it was first established. The Vault is proud to have become a tradition in the minds of many Nova Scotians.
